Strawberries are beginning to play out, but do not fear....squash is here! hee hee.....the crops are coming in and life is once again busy, busy, busy.  Chickens are growing and we FINALLY got a few more hens for eggs....maybe soon we can start providing eggs for you....don't know when, but maybe soon!  Greg and Spice are doing fantastic and we now have Buddy...a 3 month old billy.  Hopefully around Sept/Oct and Nov/Dec he'll do his job to help "freshen" the girls!  We will not be attending the East Chase market this year.  According to the market manager, we are not "reliable" enough for them due to our inattendance last year due to the drought!  This is because we are a small local farm that doesn't have 300 + acres of produce planted.  That is ok...we'll be in Prattville Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning June 3rd.   So, if you really want to come and support some LOCAL farmers visit us either at the Home Depot parking lot on Tuesdays from 3-6pm or at Prattville Square (next to the hospital off of 31) on Tuesdays from 3-6pm or Saturday mornings from 7-12 noon.

It is a whirwind around here!  The first chicken killing was a great time!  Thank you for supporting us!  The second batch of birds for the 2nd kill date have been sold and we are working on the 3rd kill batch in June!  Strawberries are in full swing and we are loving our guests!  Everything is growing wonderfully as of today and we are excited about the upcoming season.  The Lord continues to bless us daily!

Wow!  Finally~! I was able to access the webpage.  Thank you for being patient!  We have added so many new things.  Check out the full site to get it all.  We are approaching the first kill date of the chicken season. BE sure to call us!  Also, all veggies are growing and this wonderful rain is helping so much!  Strawberries are ripening nicely and we plan to begin picking within the week.  We have also added 2 Nubian milk goats to our crew.  Spice and Greg (yes, Greg...Gregina) are keeping us in LOTS of wonderful milk!  We are experimenting with cheeses and butter.....  Spring has sprung and we are busy, busy, busy!  We still have room for the upcoming CSA.....give us a call and we'll be glad to call you back!

Thanks for being so great! Cat

Merry Christmas!  We hope you have had a joyous and blessed Christmas season!  We have been busy, busy, busy preparing the cold frame houses, working on fences, and planting transplants for the winter/spring CSA.  We have gotten several new hogs, and our boar hog has been doing his thing and we think our sow is pregnant! Yeah!  We pray that you will be safe and enjoy your New Year!

Good morning from the farm!  Things are already in full swing for next spring.  Plans are in the way to put in 4 cold frames and 1 green house!!!  We are very excited about this!  This means produce all year long!!!!  Also, plans are already in the works for more chickens (meat and layers) and pigs.  We will be putting up the last of the fencing before the end of December.  We have beautiful tomato plants growing in the cold frame now, with blooms.  We could use your help.  If you have bags of leaves and live in the Clanton, Verbena, Prattville, or Montgomery area give us a call so we can come get it for use in our compost pile....wanna be even bigger help?  Bring it here to the farm!  What an awesome excuse for #1 a ride to the country and #2 a visit to our farm!  Also~ if you need someone to do fall cleanup for you, please give us a call.  Our rates are $45/hr. and we will remove all the leaves and do whatever else you need in the yard. Satisfaction guaranteed!  We look forward to hearing from you!

It was a very difficult summer as many of you know!  The Lord has graciously spared us from further demise and has blessed us with much needed rain thus far.  Bryan has been busy planting fall crops.  We currently have available lettuce mixes and turnip greens.  Collard Greens are growing strong as well.  We have planted more tomato plants (and they are blooming!) in the ground and in large pots also that can be moved in and out of the cold frame for longer growing time!  There are more squash and zucchini plants growing and they have baby squash and zucchini's on them!  Carrots have been planted and will be planted again soon.  Broccoli, Cauliflower and cabbage are growing in the transplanter as we speak!  We just planted 7,000 strawberry plants!  Those of you who enjoyed our strawberries last year will have the same opportunity in the upcoming year! Please keep our farm in your prayers as we pray that God will bless the crops.
